The natural world around us is exploding with dye potential; from onion skins, to goldenrod, even avocado skins have the potential to transform textiles from bland to Wow! For those looking to expand their understanding and experience using natural dyes to ecologically transform textiles through; colour, and a range of contemporary, and traditional printmaking techniques. In this 7 week course, participants will learn the processes involved in the creation of natural dyes. The successful application of the dyes, and their ability to yield a surprising range of colour while only using plants, minerals, and insects. Join the Natural Dyer Renata Britez and become familiar with this traditional, magical, and beautiful art.

MATERIAL COST: $60.00 to be paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop.

Instructor – Renata Britez

Renata Britez is mixed media artist originally from Brazil and currently Based in Fredericton NB - Canada. She graduated from Textile Design program at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) in Fredericton, New Brunswick Canada. Her previous experience working in graphic design industry and her interest in pattern design lead her to follow the path of surface design. Her goal is to explore traditional printing methods such as block printing, shibori dyeing, and screen-printing using natural dyes and fibres.

Please check the description above for material fee and additional items to bring. Material fee will need to be in cash to be paid to the instructor the day of the course.

What's the refund policy?

Attendees can receive full refunds up to 7 days before your events start date. After that, a special request will need to be made to the organizer.

Upon cancellation of the workshops due to low enrolment or extenuating circumstance a refund will be granted, Eventbrite will retain processing fees.
