4 WEEK COURSE ONLINE | 2 hours of live instruction each week

Every Thursday, starting February 10 until March 10th 2022 (no class on March 3rd)

Do you know the basics of Adobe Photoshop but struggle to take it any further? Do you enjoy taking photographs but are intimidated when it comes to editing them? In this 4-week course, students will be introduced to a variety of post-production techniques that will help take their images to a professional level. This course will teach specific skills in Adobe Photoshop, providing a technical foundation while also exploring and learning to apply these skills in a creative way. Students must have some prior experience and knowledge with the program, and know the basics such as using layers, making adjustments, cropping and resizing files. Students are required to have access to a computer with Adobe Photoshop, a camera, and a place to print their images at.

The goal of this course is for students to complete a series of 3-7 images in a theme/subject of their choice. New content can be created for the course, or you may use an existing project that is incomplete. Each week will include a guided lesson covering a variety of skills, which students will take and apply to their project. This course will help students get that final push needed to finish a series of images, adding a polished touch to their project through individually editing each image in their series.

Students are required to have their own computer with Adobe Photoshop. Ideally, a camera that is of professional level is also required to create content for the course. Students can rent/borrow in their area if they do not own their gear. Additionally, students will be required to print their final project at a size of their choice (ie. 8X10 inch prints on matte paper). A professional photo store like Henrys may provide this service, or a local photography store may as well (in Halifax, Atlantic photo supply). The cost may vary, and students may choose what works for their budget.
