Description

5 WEEK COURSE ONLINE | 2 hours of live instruction each week

*Please Note: This is an intermediate course, Students will need to have access to a four-shaft loom at least 20" wide, and be experienced enough to be able to make a warp and dress their loom outside of class time.

Twill is a beautiful and versatile weave structure. Start with clean diagonal lines, tweak the threading and the threading a little bit, and all of a sudden an incredible range of zig zags, diamonds, and complex shapes opens up. In this intermediate class, we will use twill as a way to understand how to interpret and design four-shaft weaving drafts. Over the course of our time together, we will weave a twill gamp: a sampler to show off different possibilities of twill. Each student will then design their own twill project using the drafting skills learned in the course. Become more confident as a weaver and a designer by experimenting with twill!
