ONE AND A HALF DAY WORKSHOP | edVentures
Join Anna Mathis and try your hand at the time-honoured tradition of quilting. In this workshop we will be covering several essential quilting techniques and creating a farmhouse style mini quilt to hang proudly on the wall, or a hot pad if practicality is more your style. Learn the tools of the trade, how to work with batting and bias binding, and discover how satisfying and addicting quilt making truly is.
Materials: $20 payable to the instructor the day of the course. Please bring quilters-cotton fabric scraps (the instructor will also have some available), fabric scissors, and a pencil. Sewing machines will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you would prefer.
The instructor: Anna Mathis is a textile designer, homesteader, and a member of the senior leadership team at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD). Anna has shown and sold her textiles in galleries across Canada, as well as taught at a number of festivals such as TWIST in Quebec and the Nova Scotia Fibre Arts Festival. She holds a BED from the University of New Brunswick and a Fine Craft: Fibre Arts Diploma from NBCCD.
