Mosaics in a day – Carole Lulham

Create your own one-of-a -kind mosaic wall plaque while learning core mosaic techniques: cutting, proper adhesives and backings, using glass, natural materials and found objects. If you have always wanted to try this immensely satisfying art form. While All tools and supplies are included, however you are encouraged to bring your own special objects if desired. You select your choice of lightweight, weatherproof plaque (provided): leaf, bird or rectangle, There will be frequent demos, discussion on suitable materials, mosaic design. Caution: mosaic art can become addictive!

Materials: $10 material fee, payable in cash to the instructor the day of the course. An apron and clothes that can get dirty are encouraged. All tools and supplies are included; however you are encouraged to bring your own special objects if desired. Broken glass you treasure or other objects or additions. The instructor: Carole Lulham is a mixed media artist specializing in mosaic art, working mostly with glass and locally sourced stone. She has pursued formal training in classical Byzantine mosaics and contemporary mosaics all over the world, and loves to share her fascination for the textures, colours and endless possibilities of mosaics with hundreds of students.
