Learn how to develop imagery completely out of hand sewn stitches! Starting with a sample, we will learn how to stitch outlines, create different textures, and blend colours in order to make your embroidery as stylized or realistic as you like. No previous sewing or embroidery experience necessary, but good hand-eye coordination is an asset. Participants will finish the course with all of the tools, materials and instructions needed to finish their project at home and will be all set up for a new, very addictive hobby.

Materials: $20 payable to the instructor the day of the course. Please bring reading glasses if needed.

The instructor: Cat Candow was raised in Germany under her grandmother’s sewing table. She took her first stitches at age 3, attempting to make pants for her Teddy. She learned to crochet and cross stitch around the same time as she learned to read and write, but with much more enthusiasm. Growing up she learned about everything from applique to lace-making. She came to Canada as an exchange student and stayed to complete a Diploma in Fashion Design at NBCCD. She spent three years in England, making theater costumes and studying hat making. Back in Canada, Cat has spent much of the last decade stitching.FAQsFor more information regarding cancelations or refunds please see our policies here.
