Explore the rejuvenating impact of creative expression through a variety of exercises including journaling, meditating, walking in nature, and art-making. Throughout the workshop, expect to nourish and expand your creative mind through a series of open-ended art journaling lessons designed to awaken your inner creative muse. Gain mindfulness tools to cope with stress. Learn actionable steps to strengthen your resiliency to life’s challenges. Love yourself and build your foundation of self-compassion. Students will enjoy a curated blend of activities woven into the art journaling lessons such as mindful meditation, self-reflection, and self-compassion practices. This course is suitable for individuals of any skill level or experience.
Materials: $35 payable to the instructor the first day of the course.
The Instructor: Katrina Slade is an interdisciplinary visual artist and art instructor. Her mission as an artist is to promote kindness and activate compassion. Katrina’s primary art forms are acrylic painting, sculpture, and installation. Katrina earned a BFA and an MA in her home state of Oregon. After spending a decade traveling and working overseas in Asia and Europe, she immigrated to Canada in 2018. Katrina has enjoyed solo exhibitions and multiple two-person and group shows in Europe and North America. Her work has been published in books, magazines, and is in private collections in various countries around the world.
