Here is your chance to fully immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Mosaic Art! Over the five day period, lose yourself in this addictive art form and create a number of smaller projects or that one big project you’ve been dreaming of. On day one, the instructor will lead you through one small 2D project while demonstrating cutting and adhesion techniques. For the rest of the course we will be using an open format that will allow you to create the project(s) of your choice under the patient guidance of your instructor. Imagine, outdoor mosaics for the garden, a table top, mirror, portrait and more!

Material fee: $30. All tools, adhesives, grouts (if needed) and initial substrate or base will be provided. You provide the substrate(s) for your next projects: a table top, mirror, stepping stone, precut plywood base, garden pot. You are encouraged to bring your own artifacts (glass, old jewelry, stone, tile) if desired. Consultation with the instructor prior to start is encouraged.

Instructor - Carole Lulham

Carole is a mixed media artist specializing in mosaic art. After a pivotal learning experience in 2002, she pursued formal training in Byzantine then contemporary mosaics, earning the Mosaic Master at Scuelo Orsoni in Venice and learning from leading artists across North America and Europe. She has taught hundreds of students, offering intensive weekend programs and series at her studio in Calgary and many colleges and communities in Alberta. Education includes a graduate degree in Environmental Design and Certificate in Adult Education.

A brush with mortality empowered Carole to move on to a new chapter and hone her artistic skills.
